Nintendo Direct Recap & Switch 2 Update:
Overview:
Nintendo came out swinging revealing lots to excite gaming fans regarding the Switch 2 and it’s game releases. Although there was no announcement of the Switch 2’s price, fans were given it’s release date as well as a bunch of teasers for upcoming games over the next year.
Notably, Nintendo have managed to nail a FROMSOFTWARE exclusive in a new game titled “The Duskbloods” which launches 2026. Read the Full Recap below.
Nintendo Switch 2: Overview, Release Date & Price

GameChat:
We finally have found out what the C Button is on the new Switch 2. The “C Button” now enables you to join a new feature to online gaming called “GameChat”. Similar to PSN lobbies and Xbox Parties, you can now invite and chat with your friends and fellow gamers.
You can also share your own game screen with your party members – enabling everyone to see what your playing and vice versa.
Nintendo Switch 2 Camera: Addon Peripheral
Nintendo have developed a standalone camera attachment to the Switch 2 that enables you to video chat with your party members. It is sold separately but will be released at the same time of the Nintendo Switch 2.
Game Share:
Nintendo have announced a new feature “Game Share”. This enables players to play the same game across multiple Switch consoles with only 1 player having to actually own the game.

Pro Controller:
A new controller, similar to the Xbox and PlayStation controllers.
Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack:
Nintendo Switch 2 Online will be getting a Nintendo Gamecube Library added to it. Including titles such as Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, Soulcalibur II, F-Zero GX available on launch. A dedicated Gamecube controller that enables the player to play the Gamecube library will also be available, sold seperately.
Games Revealed:
Nintendo dropped 50+ games during this event. Most notably Mario Kart World, Duskbloods, Kirby Air Riders & Donkey Kong Bonanza. Fans were extra excited over the announcement of Mario Kart World as it brings in a whole Open World element to the racing franchise.
Not included in this year’s Direct were anticipated announcements such as a follow up to Mario Odyssey and an Animal Crossing release.
